How about opening a New Location?

We want to add new members to our family! If you’re interested in becoming a part of the Trieste organization and/or bringing a lovingly run and original, non ”cookie cutter” style Caffe Trieste location to Northern or Southern California, the Southwest or the East Coast, please contact Fabio or Sonia Giotta at 415-550-1107 or email: CaffeTrieste56@aol.com

Our historic caffe location at 601 Vallejo Street was the first espresso coffee house established on the West Coast (1956). It has become famous across the world for its combination of essences: Old Italy, Bohemian poets, art and music, and excellent Espresso.

We are, thus, the Espresso Pioneers of the West Coast. The caffe has served as a movie set for many feature films and has been the subject of many documentaries across the globe. The walls are adorned with pictures of many famous celebrities who have visited the caffe (some are regular customers) as well as of the hundreds of musical events the various members of the Giotta family have participated in.

The menu includes Italian pastries, muffins, bagels, sandwiches, salads, light fare, pizza and focaccia, all served in a family atmosphere. Wine and beer are served. The Giotta Family's famous Saturday afternoon concert takes place each week (go to Our Music button for more information). The Caffe, along with it's sister location is Sausalito location, serves over 600,000 cups of coffee each year.

Our newest location at 1667 Market Street, in Downtown San Francisco (scheduled to open in March/April 2006) promises to be musically prominent by its purposeful layout and size, with a menu similar to that of our Berkeley location; our inner East Bay Caffe that serves up Operatic, Jazz and other musical genres almost everyday in one of Caffe Trieste’s most informal settings. Along with a broader version of our North Beach light fare menu, you can enjoy Pizzette, Gelato, Focaccia sandwiches and other items.

Together, our four locations are expected to serve well over 1,300,000 cups of coffee per year!
